Sure, you can do product photography with your phone even, given the advanced camera in smartphones these days. But a good camera is a must-have if you want top-notch level pictures.

The A7III also has a brilliant dynamic range, which is not particularly needed in product photography, but it’s nice if your camera features it.
If you are doing product photography, you need to keep your pictures free from noises or blurry backgrounds. Sure, the background can be blurry at times, but the best pictures are always taken with solid color settings.

Which Macro Lenses To Use For Product Photography?
If you are shooting for static objects, then focal length really doesn’t matter. So, going for lenses that range from 75mm-200mm is the best option. If the product you are shooting is small, use a long lens for the best results.
But that is just flat words, in-depth, using a 100mm lens while doing a photoshoot for comparatively small or static objects can give you the choicest of pictures.
Nevertheless, if you are someone who is used to manual lenses, switching to auto really won’t help. This is what most people don’t tell you, because manual lenses are cheaper than auto lenses, they should get the job done.
In product photography, you want to have authority over your focus, if you think you can control the focus better while doing it manually, don’t switch.
As mentioned earlier, the Sony A7III has over-the-top technology for autofocus and works within seconds. If someone uses manual lenses regularly, then they can’t really switch to auto and have full command. But then again, you always have time to learn, just a little practicing can you get better at auto.
